Chess Notation
Chess notation describes how moves in a game of chess are recorded and described. (…). We talked about how every square has a coordinate-these form one part of the notation for every move. The other part is the piece moving to the square.
In chess notation, a pawn move is the only piece that doesn’t reference the piece in question. You’ll notice a knight uses "N", which is to avoid getting confused with the "K" for king.
